Penny Stockton was always up for a party, but this year’s Galentine’s was special. She’d decided to host a Wicked -themed soirée, inspired by the emerald and pink hues of Glinda and Elphaba. “Let’s make it magical, but not break the bank,” Penny said to her roommate, Julie, as they brainstormed ideas. With her Halloween and New Year’s decorations tucked away in storage, Penny knew she could reuse plenty of items to set the scene. A quick trip to the dollar store yielded some green and pink party accents, from tablecloths to streamers. But as she envisioned the setting, Penny realized the room needed a little extra sparkle. “Green and pink lighting would take it to the next level,” she mused.
