Cash Pyle and the Black History Month Surprise
As Cash Pyle watched the 3D printer hum to life at the library, an idea struck him. With Black History Month coming up, he wanted to find the perfect book for Grandma Pyle. She adored reading African American history books and had built an impressive personal library over the years.
Once his printing task finished, Cash approached a librarian for recommendations. Armed with a list of suggested titles, he used an AI chatbot to narrow down his options. One book, a well-regarded classic, was out of print, while another, a newer release, was available at major retailers like Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Determined to get the best deal, he set up a price alert for any discounts on the new book.
Hoping to find the out-of-print title at a bargain, Cash searched Goodwill, a local second-hand bookshop, and online marketplaces like eBay. He eventually found a reasonably priced copy online but decided to support a local business instead.
At the same time, he continued searching for the newer book and was thrilled to find a mint-conditioned used copy online at a fraction of the original price. He quickly made the purchase, knowing Grandma Pyle would appreciate both the history and the thoughtful savings.
At the bookstore, he not only found the history book but also enjoyed a brief chat with the shop owner, who shared her own favorite reads on the subject. Cash made his purchase, feeling good about contributing to a neighborhood business.
That Sunday, over dinner, he presented both books to Grandma Pyle. Her eyes lit up as she turned them over in her hands. "Oh, Cash, these are wonderful! How did you know?"
He grinned. "A little research, a little hunting, and a lot of love."
Grandma Pyle beamed. "You, my dear, are making history yourself."
